The Rainier Scholars program provides academic, leadership, mentoring, and support programs for more than 350 minority students from the Seattle area. The program focuses on local low-income, minority students who have strong academics or leadership skills, but lack resources. The program starts working with students in the fifth grade and remains with them through high school, providing intensive mentoring, leadership development, and SAT prep. It continues to support the students until they graduate college, often arranging summer enrichment programs, internships, and networking opportunities. Rainier Scholars, which currently works with 430 local students, has a 100% on-time high school graduation rent and every one of its students has been admitted to a four-year university.
